Part of the British Canoeing Leadership awards the Whitewater Kayak Leader Training course (Old 4 Star Kayak Training )  delivers you the training to acquire the skill level required to lead a group of paddlers in suitable locations, on grade 2-3 moderate white water  conditions and to judge the conditions and the standard of the group and in turn make appropriate decisions along the way & modify plans as required.

This is a discipline specific award for those wishing to expand their coaching or leadership remits or just to upskill your self to be a safer more skilled paddler that understands group control and can be an pro-active member of any team

Your Whitewater Kayak leader Training ( Old 4 Star Training)

Your training will cover

  •  Personal Paddling Skills
  •  Rescue Skills
  •  Safety, Leadership and Group Skills
  •  Theory

You will leave with

  • Official White water leader training valid for 3 yrs
  • A personal lesion plan
  • New Personal paddling skills
  • New leadership Skills
  • New Rescue Skills

Prerequisites

  • Competent grade 2- 3 kayak paddler
  • Age: 16 years of age, or older

What you need

  • In short your normal paddling kit, suitable for grade 2/3 paddling,
  • Buoyancy Aid, Helmet Cag & wetsuit/Dr Suit ect.
  • Any Safety equipment, eg. Throw bags, Tapes, crabs First Aid kit
    Please don’t purchase anything kit wise for the course, unless your just feeling the urge for shinny new kit
  • Packed lunch
  • Hot & cold drinks for the day
  • Snacks
